  • "The Stable was very comfortable and well-equipped, everything worked properly and the parking spot near the door was very convenient, as was a bedroom with level access for my less mobile relative."

The deck out back was lovely though damp weather meant we didn't use it during this visit. The only small difficulty was finding the property when we arrived in the dark. Satnav took us to the private road which has different branches, named properties and no numbers, so it took a bit of trial and error. Now I have found it I would be very happy to stay there again.

  • "Overall very clean and well presented but furniture requires updating."

Bed 1 duvet and mattress needs replacing, dips badly and fraying, TV so old! No WI-FI for 5 of the 7 days, Lyme Bay Holidays emailed owner, no response but chased after 3 days then rectified. Property in quiet position but pictures misleading. No outlook front or back due to tall trees and shrubbery. 10 min walk down steep hill to centre and sea front of lovely Lyme Regis but follow the river walk and it’s flat. Bus stop on main road opposite entrance to the property, very useful !!! If the above issues were rectified would possibly return. Lyme Bay Holidays we’re very helpful and efficient.

We are sorry to hear about the WIFI issues and glad that we could assist you. We have asked our Housekeeping Team to check the duvet and mattress. We hope that you enjoyed your stay. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Loved the private and quiet setting and that the property has 2 bathrooms."

Nice to be out of the busy town despite the 20m walk down/up the hill. Initial issues with food in the dishwasher, shortage of glasses and a bulb not working were resolved within hours, than you Lyme Bay Holidays. Feedback.. please reinvest some rent on a tax-deductable new bed. The old one is lumpy and threadbare at the edges. Overall very happy with our stay.

  • "The stable was clean and functional, we had three problems, one, the shower in twin room was not getting hot, two, the remote for the TV was missing, and one of the wooden chairs came apart."

We rang to let lyme bay, holidays know, could not fault them, they came straight away and sorted out issues, excellent service. The furniture needs updating, the sofa was ok, but the two wooden chairs, antique, were not fit for purpose, the double bed mattress needs replacing, it was so old and lumpy. Also the garden hedges around the decking were very overgrown. Will not return to that property.

We were pleased to provide you with assistance. The owner maintains the garden areas. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "The Stable is a beautiful place to stay."

Quiet, secluded area but close enough to Lyme Regis to walk to the beach (definitely harder on the walk back uphill however) The property itself is gorgeous with a mixture of the old and new and would happily stay here again Only faults, the double bed could do with replacing as its got a massive dip on each side which can be slightly uncomfortable. Also the plants surrounding the terrace need cutting back All in all a great time and would have no trouble reccommending the Stable to others

  • "We spent a chilly August weekend in a cold cottage with no heating."

Owners do not welcome you or share their contact details.

We're sorry to hear that despite the owner's best efforts to assist you with providing heating for your stay, you were still chilly. The property is managed via the local agents, who liaised on your behalf with the owner over the heating issue. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

Located about a mile from the sea front it is a good walk especially on returning due to the rising route.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the Stable."

It was secluded and quiet but within walking distance of Lyme Regis, which we liked, as it saved driving and parking every day. We felt the images of the front of the property and the terrace/patio at the back were slightly misleading, as the trees/shrubs are quite overgrown in reality. We would have liked the plants/shrubs on the terrace to have been trimmed back, but otherwise it was lovely.

Thank you for your comments. We have contacted the owner as they arrange for the garden to be maintained. We will also organise a re-shoot of the exterior in due course to update our marketing pictures. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay at this property."

It is in an excellent location and it is very well equipped. However, we were seriously inconvenienced by the skylight in the main bedroom. It has no blind and is east-facing, so the light at daybreak is very bright. We recommend the installation of a blind! We really enjoyed sitting out on the terrace but the website photographs of it are dated.

We are sorry to hear that you were disrupted by the early morning sun, and have asked the owner is they will consider fitting a blind. We will also review the marketing photos to ensure they still provide an updated reflection of the property. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Lovely welcome pack on arrival."

The stables has everything you need. Very clean and comfortable stay. Quiet location but close to lyme regis and amenities. Underfloor heating was appreciated as it was cold for a few days but the stables stays warm for ages.(May was still 12 degrees). The only reason I put 4 stars was lyme bay holidays forgot the welcome book for 2 days and it took a while to work everything out. Lovely stay , lovely area, lovely cottage.

  • "Ideal quiet property with nice natural setting away from the main hub of town."

Probably more suited to good walkers as it is a good hike from the sea front. There is a bus stop opposite the private drive with buses both directions hourly so still a good property to access Lyme and neighbouring towns. Nearest pub/restaurant/hotel within a reasonable walking distance. Can’t fault the facilities or cleanliness of the property with safe private parking and nice views over the valley.

  • "A lovely cottage and very clean, good space, and peaceful surroundings."

Lovely welcome package and everything was there to make our stay easy including washing liquid; cloths and bin bags. Feedback for improvement:- 1/ washing machine leaked due to a broken inner tube which we did report to the letting company. 2/ recommend insect/ mosquito repellent:- plug ins for rooms and candles for outside - would make night times more comfortable 3/ children’s crockery and cutlery (ie things that won’t break due to small hands) - plastic or bamboo cups/ bowels and plates 4/ we separated our rubbish but found no recycling - would be good

  • "The property was beautifully presented and plenty of room for our family of four."

My worry before the visit was that it wouldn’t be very private- as it’s attached to the main house, but it was well sectioned off and there was plenty of privacy- apart from a delightful dog being nosey and poking his head through the gate! Parking and access was also very easy - which is great for Lyme Regis! There is a lovely terrace overlooking a garden with table and chairs which we made good use of. My only comment would be if you had young children I don’t think there was access to the garden for the stable - which was absolutely fine for us as our children are adults- but might be disappointing for younger families. All in all we couldn’t fault it and had a lovely holiday- would definitely stay there again.

  • "Cottage very clean and bright."

Sofa and chairs very uncomfortable. No shaving point in either bathroom. Temperature control on showers needs fixing - Very hot or freezing cold. We did not appreciate how hilly Lyme Regis is. Would say the 15/20 minute walk advertised to and from Lyme very ambitious - especially walking back up the hills. Those with walking difficulties or older guests would definitely struggle. Having said all that we did enjoy our stay and break.
